• June 9, 2021, Today’s Holy Rosary on YouTube — Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET • Audio Podcast of this Rosary Available Here Now! We need to permit the Holy Spirit to take control of our lives. We are his living temples. The Holy Spirit gives us seven gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. Among all of the gifts, Fear of the Lord might be the most counter-cultural today, given the impact of our secular, agnostic society. Fear of the Lord is reverence and respect for God. It means to acknowledge that everything comes as a gift from God, and consequently, we offer praise and adoration to the divinity. In other words, it downplays personal achievement and self-sufficiency. We understand better this gift of the Holy Spirit by cultivating the virtue of humility of the Virgin Mary, which leads at the same time to greater understanding, knowledge, and wisdom. Ave Maria! • June 2, 2021, Today’s Holy Rosary on YouTube — Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET • Audio Podcast of this Rosary Available Here Now! As we pray the first Luminous mystery today and commit to cultivate our openness to the Holy Spirit, we rejoice with the upcoming feasts of June: Pentecost (June 5), Mary Mother of the Church (June 6), Trinity Sunday (June 12), Corpus Christ (June 19), the Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 24), and the Immaculate Heart of Mary (June 25). In addition, we commemorate the solemnities of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist (June 24) and Sts. Peter and Paul (June 29), along with the memorials of other great saints. Overall, the month is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, present on earth in the Blessed Sacrament, as human manifestation of God's Love for men. This is a great month to increase our spiritual richness and accumulate treasures in Heaven for eternity. Meanwhile, the secular world, influenced by darkness, reacts by inventing other type of celebrations. Be awake and invoke St Michael the Archangel for the spiritual battle of June! Ave Maria! The pastor in charge of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde, Texas, Fr. Eduardo Morales, is sending a powerful message to the families and friends of the victims these days: "Do not let anger corrode into hatred. Hold onto your faith." "Allow their love, their spiritual presence, to continue to be with us," he said during Mass on Saturday. "When we don’t believe, that is when they truly die, and that’s not fair to them. Allow them to continue to live among us, allow them to continue to be part of us," Fr. Morales added. The belief in eternal life and the warmth of togetherness are what keep the good people of Uvalde alive. Ave Maria! • May 31, 2021, Today’s Holy Rosary on YouTube — Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET • Audio Podcast of this Rosary Available Here Now! We commemorate today the Feast of the Visitation, the second Joyful Mystery. This is a medieval feast that now is celebrated between the solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord (March 25th) and the birth of John the Baptist. Shortly after the Annunciation, the Holy Virgin, expecting a child, hurried to visit her cousin Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, who was cleansed from original sin in his mom's womb at the words of Our Lady's greeting. Elizabeth, feeling the warmth and kindness of the Virgin and filled with the Holy Spirit, proclaimed Mary as Mother of God and "blessed among women." Another truth in this event is Mary's singing of the sublime hymn of the Magnificat, proclaiming the greatness of the Lord and announcing prophetically that she would be venerated down through the centuries. "My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me, and holy is His name" (Lk. 1:46). Ave Maria! The Uvalde, Texas, mass shooting was also an attack on the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Since the massacre, the families of the 21 victims, friends, and visitors are gathering to worship in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, just a mile away from the elementary school. This is the local sanctuary that has become a nucleus for a community’s grieving. So much pain and devastation were drawn to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This parish has been central to the lives of many in Uvalde, mostly fellow Hispanic brothers and sisters. At the center of the parish, we see an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, encouraging us to pray the Rosary every day. Our today’s Rosary is dedicated to the good people of Uvalde, so they can find comfort in the suffering heart of Jesus and Mary. Ave Maria!
