That's why one of the virtues to cultivate is patience. Our Father knows what we really need before we ask, and He delivers at the right time. We don't see it that way and fall into despair. The two virtues to pursue are faith and hope. A Rosary friend was telling us on the YouTube forum yesterday that "she was barren and broken and was praying and absolutely nothing was happening." What could we tell her? There is much suffering, pain, and struggle in life. The holiest people on Earth—and now perpetually joyful in Heaven—suffered tremendously. No one knew the intensity of pain as the Holy Virgin Mary. She stayed humble, silent, and faithful, offering her affliction. Jesus Himself, the Son of God, accepted death on a cross. The apostles were martyred. Our friend Mary carries a big cross being barren and broken. Every one of us carries crosses, as well. We must accept our cross, and understand that in our suffering we glorify God and His glory comes back to us making us stronger and happier. Ave Maria! Abortion is a direct attack on life and a serious offense to the Creator. It's a collective failure, a legalized and silent holocaust, that also wounds women, families, and the entire society. Nearly a million unborn lives are eliminated in the U.S. year after year through abortion. Imposing further expansions of abortion and contraception is a sin and an attack on human dignity. We pray for the conversion of those who refuse to understand that every life is a God's given gift and the unborn are humans. We can—and must—pray for the family members we lost, for our friends, neighbors, and even for our enemies. With our prayers, we speed up their ascent into Heaven. This is a mystery we believe in. Souls cannot go to hell from purgatory. Souls are trapped in purgatory until they make amends for their sins. The Father wants us to arrive into Him immaculate and pure, as the Virgin Mary went. Do we want to meet our deceased relatives and friends in purgatory enjoying the presence of Jesus and Mary? We need to pray for them. It was in the midst of the pandemic. Days before the shutdown, your host Mikel led some Rosary prayers at St. Roch and St. Michael parishes, in Greenwich, Connecticut. With the lockdown, and without further thinking, we set up a website and started to pray via YouTube. It was a logical choice. How long would we endure? We had no idea then—and, luckily, we have no idea now. The Virgin Mary, through her grace, will decide. Praying the Holy Rosary daily in this community present in 87 countries via Apple, Google, and Spotify podcasts is an amazing demonstration of grace from Our Mother in Heaven. It has been 300 days of joy. What's our plan? Well, there is no plan. Ideally, we'd revive the devotion of the Holy Rosary in the 21st century. However, only the Holy Spirit, along with His spouse the Virgin Mary, knows what lies ahead. People were astonished at his teaching—as we read today in the Gospel (Mk 1:21-28). It was new teaching with authority, far beyond the words of the scribes or anyone else so far in history. Imagine God talking to everyone, revealing the mysteries of the universe. All of the eternal truths exposed. The word of God handled with overwhelming humility. Too much light and grace, for our limited nature. What was the Messiah’s first message? “This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the Gospel.” (Mk 1:14-20). Imagine the reaction of Galileans at that time. Too much joy and wisdom. We can experience the same today. We just need to invoke the Holy Spirit and open our hearts. If we could understand, we would be exultant, jubilant, and ecstatic for the rest of our life. The Creator of the Universe coming to us—to me—and saying "Hey, I want to be your friend. Please share with me all your sorrows and joys!" Yes, that’s what happened in Galilee, Capernaum, and all over Judea. And that what’s happening today to us, believe it or not. The proclamation of the Kingdom of Heaven—the third Luminous Mystery—is right here, in front of us. We just need to repent and believe! Ave Maria! Happy New Year in Mary and Joseph!
