Today’s Gospel tells us that the risen Jesus revealed himself to Peter and six other apostles. Jesus dwells with us until the end of times, regardless he physically appears or not. The Son of God came down from Heaven, teaching us that we must take our individual cross and follow Him. Yes, there will be suffering, as we as experiencing today with the global pandemic. But there will be real joy and hope. And we will be on the path to eternal happiness. https://youtu.be/MSvSJUDyVzs Like Jesus’ disciples, we are troubled and questions arise in our minds, especially during this coronavirus pandemic time. And what Jesus does? We see it in today’s reading. The Risen One suddenly appears in the midst of the disciples and shows them his wounded hands and feet. And said to them: “Peace be with you”. He is not revengeful but peaceful, full of divine mercy. Disciples’ incredulity gets transformed in joy. We need to open our minds and our heart, repent from our sins (big or small) and trust in Jesus. When we do that our life gets immediately changed, and we experience joy and hope. It’s magical; well, truthfully, it’s a mystery. But it happens this way. The forgiveness of sins opens the door to hope. Today’s Luminous Mysteries show us how to overcome our day-to-day fear and anxiety. We just need to place our sights in Jesus and Mary. This week we picture that Jesus is truly alive after he was raised from the dead. Jesus appeared to the holy women, to Peter, to the other apostles, and to two confused disciples walking to Emmaus. These two disciples represent humankind. Despite all the grace, joy and peace that we receive from Jesus, we are slow to believe. Please read If you can the Emmaus chapter, at Lukas 24. And by the way, a little confession: I did the Emmaus retreat last year, and I strongly recommend it. You will see the Holy Spirit in action. Emmaus is a life-changing experience. In today’s Mysteries of the Rosary, we will meditate on the glory of the Risen One and on the glory of His beloved Mother, our most loving Virgin Mary. [Written by Mikel A]
On Easter, we see that Jesus of Nazareth, brutally killed by the Roman and Jewish authorities of the time, is alive again. Jesus is alive through the power of the Holy Spirit, who is the Giver of Life. The Resurrection, with hundreds of witnesses, is a fact of history. It’s an act of the living God in space and time. Heaven and earth are coming together, providing anyone a real cause to repent. It’s a call to confess our sins and amend our life. It’s also a call to take our personal cross and accept our suffering, especially in these coronavirus dark times. Today, we meditate on the Sorrowful Mysteries, by imitating the lives of Jesus and Mary. [Written by Mikel A] — Today's Rosary will be streamed through our YouTube channel, at 7:30 pm ET.
