It is fantastic to love our country. But countries are human creations, and we are first children of God. We've been created to dwell like brothers, mostly experiencing the mystery of the cross and the mystery of the resurrection. Exaggerating the values of a nation to the point of adoring it as a modern God is absurd. What Russia's President is doing by elevating the so-called "Mother Russia" to a kind of supernatural category is an inspiration of darkness, at the same level of communism. Moreover, poisonous ideas can result in massive human life destruction, as we are seeing in the invasion of Ukraine. For decades, Russia spread the errors of satanic Communism. Today it dangerously plays to the idea of a global confrontation. Sister Lucia, one of the three Fatima visionaries, recalled in her memories that Our Lady asked for "the Consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart." The Queen of the Universe also said, "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph." The sooner we consecrate Russia, Ukraine, and the whole world to the Virgin Mary, the better the outcome will be for the human race. Ave Maria! There were three extreme temptations: the temptation of survival food (and Jesus was really hungry and thirsty after forty days), the temptation of power and glory (and Jesus was the Son of God), and the temptation of not being recognized in his mission on Earth (and that was His whole purpose when he humbled and gave his life for us). Jesus, filed with the Holy Spirit, emerged victoriously. It was a big win of the Divinity and the Human Race against the Master of Lies. Ave Maria! When He calls — as we read in the Gospel today through the passage of Jesus calling Matthew (Lk 5:27-32)— an explosion of grace takes place. Grace comes as a heavenly gift that human beings are incapable to understand. It’s an opportunity for change, a challenge that will result in a conversion of our hearts. Jesus Christ wants us with Him in Heaven enjoying eternal joy. He invites us to leave everything behind and follow him. This is all for our own good, here on Earth and tomorrow in Eternity. Let’s pray for receiving the gift of grace this Lent. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! + Mikel A. | RosaryNetwork.com, New York

It's a time for spiritual discipline in imitation of the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert, during which he endured temptation by Satan. We pray and do penance. We raise our minds and heart to Jesus Christ expressing our gratitude and asking for forgiveness. We live for God and the Divinity repays our effort by giving us grace and wisdom, so we can develop the very best version of ourselves. Ave Maria! Yesterday, on Ash Wednesday, we were reminded that we all will die, facing then the Final Judgement. Only God knows when we will day. In the meantime, we need to live in a state of grace, pursuing holiness, because the end of our earthly life might happen at any moment. But the good news revealed to us is that this valley of tears is a prelude to true life. Let’s behave as disciples and even ambassadors of Christ and let’s bring the light of Jesus and Mary to anyone around us. We are much needed as part of the divine plan of salvation. Ave Maria!
