Personally, I better understood the mystery of the sanctity of marriage: the idea of two bodies merged into one flesh united in prayer to Jesus and Mary. In our pride, we take things for granted, without thanking God for everything we have. Our lack of gratitude shows that we are sinners. The absence of a dear person results in a hole in your heart. Maria Blanca was cured of her cancer and toxic epidermal necrolysis to join, I hope, the communion of Saints, which is Heaven. She is resting in peace, advocating for all of us. Maria Blanca emptied herself in her faith. As a Catholic mother, her goal was to bring her kids to Heaven. As a wife, she had the same mission. As an anonymous faithful, she was always pursuing conversions of friends. As a gift, she received the grace of a happy death after an extremely painful stay at the ICU. Today’s Rosary takes place in the city of Astorga, part of El Camino, the Way of St James, where she grew up and where we buried her yesterday. This Marian prayer is dedicated to her memory. This blind man heard about Jesus of Nazareth and was seated on the roadside begging and crying out loudly. He kept calling Jesus. The Lord made sure about the insistent calling and, naturally, responded, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man replied to him, "Master, I want to see." Jesus told him, "Go your way; your faith has saved you." Immediately he received his sight. This biblical, timeless episode reflects how blind is mankind until we get notice of Jesus. Then we need to have the courage, against the society around us, to call the Savior. Jesus Christ will answer at the right time and rescue us from the disease of sin. Our faith ends up saving us. No other Pope met as many people like John Paul II. Elected in 1978, the beloved Polish Pope promulgated the Catechism of the Catholic Church. He also was a big devout of the Holy Rosary. He added the Luminous Mysteries, following the Magisterium of the Church and reaffirming what St. Louis de Montfort and other saints and popes discerned. On May 13, 1981, an attempt was made on Pope John Paul II's life in Saint Peter's Square. Saved by the maternal hand of Our Lady of Fatima, he forgave the attempted assassin and intensified his pastoral commitments with heroic generosity. He died on April 2, 2005, and was buried in the crypt of Saint Peter's Basilica. Six years later, Pope Benedict XVI, his immediate successor, beatified him. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! First, we must love God the Father above all people and all things. Second, we must be merciful and charitable with everyone. In their pride, people try to find a middle ground. Some groups set new avenues; others find redefinition. The Evil One takes advantage of this confusion and encourages people to keep up with whatever view denies the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ. The Son of God, knowing all of this, he said to his Apostles. "I have come to bring not peace but the sword," as we recently read (Mt 10:34—11:1). St. Michael, the Prince of the Heavenly Host, is represented with a sword. Also, we see statues of St. Peter and other saints holding swords. The Holy Rosary itself is a spiritual sword. Certainly, we are in the middle of a furious battle. The eternal soul of billions of humans is at stake. The road to salvation is tough, and Jesus Christ talks plainly about it. Ave Maria!
