Mary gave her fiat, changing human history. "I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." (Lk 1:26-38). The profound humility of Mary — her surrendering to God — is the foundation of who we are, or should be. That's our earthly challenge: to open our hearts and minds and trust in Jesus. The Son of God came because He knew we needed him. Our sins lead us to total destruction, individually and collectively. Only the Lamb of God takes away the sins of the world, and in His infinite goodness and mercy gives himself entirely to us. Christmas is a boost for all of us, another opportunity to adopt the virtue of the humility of Mary and accept Jesuscrist as the center of our lives. Ave Maria! What else do you wish? Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything." A church was built on the spot of the apparition, as Mary had requested, and eight million people converted to Catholicism in a short period of time upon hearing of or viewing the image of Our Lady. Many passages in the Gospel imply that the saints join their prayers with ours, and ours are joined with theirs. Since the early Church, the invocation of the angels and saints is universally practiced in the Church. St. Paul said in Hebrews 11:1-12:1: "Seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us." In other words, the heroes and martyrs of the faith from ages past surround us like spectators at a running race, sharing our pain. Yesterday, I got a supernatural sign from Maria Blanca, my holy wife. A heart with the Rosary was formed on a table in our room. It never happened to me something like this in my entire life.
