We enjoy with gratitude all of the material goods that the Lord is giving us. Life is suffering as well as celebration, as we saw in the mystery of the Wedding at Cana. However, what matters is to store up treasures in heaven, as Jesus said to His disciples — and we read yesterday (Mt 6:19-23). Serving Jesus and Mary is how we save treasures in heaven. An essential part of that service is daily prayer and meditation. Devoutly reciting the Rosary of Mary is time well spent that greatly pleases the Heavens. This is an existential issue. The Eucharist is the body and blood of Jesus Christ. It's the deep mystery of the Real Presence of the Lord. It's not symbolism nor remembrance of Jesus. As Pope Paul VI proclaimed in 1964 in Lumen Gentium, the Eucharist is the fount and the apex — the cuspid — of the whole Christian life. Jesus Himself in the Holy Communion is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end of our fragile human existence. The sacrament of the Eucharist means that the Lord of all Creation enters in our body, mind, and soul, reigning within us. In order to avoid confusion, why don't we just follow the Catechism and the magisterium of the Church? There is a reason for rejecting many "uncomfortable truths": they do not please our society. Too many faithful and bishops are in the business of being nice and agreeable with anyone, rather than following the virtues of Jesus and Mary – that we meditate upon our daily Rosary. In these troubling times, we should hold the Rosary and stick to Catechism. As Benedict XVI said, "the Catechism was not written to please you. To be able to reach holiness, we receive the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and the love of God, as we learn in the third Glorious Mystery that we pray today. This grace is for everyone, for the peaceful people, and for the lost ones. As Jesus Christ revealed, "the heavenly Father makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust." We are all children of God, souls created by the same Divinity. Therefore, we should aspire to be one family, loving one another — putting ourselves in the shoes of the other and wishing the very best to our neighbors.
