As we recently read in the Gospel, Jesus said to his disciples (Mt 6:7-15): "If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions." Very often is hard to forgive, especially with people who hide their pride and ugly intentions behind the virtues. But no one is infallible and incapable of error, and in our road to perfection, we need to move forward asking sincerely for the forgiveness of our sins. The Blessed Virgin Mary reminded in Fatima, Garabandal, and other apparitions that Her Son will forgive us if we repent and invoke him. The Holy Trinity ardently wishes to receive our souls in Heaven so we enjoy eternal happiness. We, humans, are created so lovingly that we are given the freedom to choose. God doesn’t interfere in our lives unless we ask for help through prayer. Then we receive grace and wisdom to dwell on Earth. We also receive the gift of faith, that we would need to constantly cultivate. Prayer and acts of charity are the tickets to safely navigate through the valley of tears we live in. Like the Son of God and the Virgin Mary, we will bear multiple crosses, although less painful. To make things a little bit more challenging, doubts about God will accompany us. We might even think that the Father doesn’t love us enough and has even abandoned us. Jesus in the cross, before his resurrection, thought about it, as well. At the end of this pathway full of sorrows and joys, we will face the final judgment. Life on Earth is short. Our best move is to cultivate faith, virtues, and love. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! Born in Antioch in Syria, he was an early convert from paganism. St. Luke was a practicing physician and artist. He was a disciple of St. Paul. He accompanied him on his missionary journeys. Like St. Mark, the author of the second Gospel, St. Luke did not personally know Jesus. The Gospel of Luke emphasizes the Merciful Heart of Jesus. It highlights the fact that Christ is the salvation of all men. In it are preserved some of our Lord's most moving parables, like those of the lost sheep and the prodigal son. One day, while in prayer, Margaret experienced Christ's presence in an extraordinary way. She heard Jesus explain that he desired to show his love for the human race in a special way, by encouraging devotion to "the heart that so loved mankind." She experienced a series of private revelations, but the superior of the convent and Church officials dismissed them as a delusion. However, the Jesuit priest Father Claude de la Colombiere – later canonized as a saint – believed her testimony, and chronicled it in writing.
