• August 15, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 6:00 pm ET Today is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the close of her life, Mary was taken up body and soul into the glory of heaven entering eternity. This dogma was defined in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. Its Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus stated: "The Immaculate Mother of God, the ever-virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heaven." On December 8, we celebrated the Immaculate Conception. On Christmas and on January 1, the divine motherhood of Mary. The Holy Virgin had the fullness of grace from the first moment of her existence, completely untouched by sin. The Assumption completed God's work. Ave Maria! • August 8, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 6:00 pm ET One of the great saints in Heaven too often forgotten is St. Dominic of Guzman. We celebrate today, August 8th, his feast day. This Spanish priest of the XII century founded the Order of Friar Preachers, the Dominicans, and he received the Holy Rosary from the Virgin Mary Herself, as many glorious saints and popes stated, including Louis Mary de Montfort. The Rosary — called at that time the Marian Psalter — had an immediate effect on defeating heresies and prompting conversions. Six centuries later, in Fatima, Portugal, the Holy Mary would identify Herself as Our Lady of the Rosary. The graces and miracles — historical events as Lepanto and private ones — have been countless across history. In the XX century, St John Paul II added the Luminous Mysteries and St Faustina Kowalska started the Divine Mercy Chaplet, which is now prayed over the Rosary. We invoke today St Dominic of Guzman, founder of the Rosary. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! St. Dominic of Guzman Pray for Us! + Mikel A. | TheRosaryNetwork.org, New York
• August 7, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 6:00 pm ET The Transfiguration of Jesus Christ — that we reflected upon yesterday (MARK 9:2-10) —leaves us speechless. A fully human, humble to the extreme, Jesus changes suddenly his nature into a divine form and offers us a glimpse of the beauty of Heaven. Friends, this is what we are fighting for. The Virgin Mary reminds it through Her Rosary every day. The Queen of the Universe encourages us to abandon ourselves in Her eternal son, promising that the recompense will be absolute, beyond our comprehension. The Immaculate Mary did so, starting with Her Fiat, and never doubted, putting into practice the virtues of humility and charity like never any other men or women ever did. The Mysteries we pray today show the immense joy and peace we can also experience in our daily dwelling, regardless of suffering and struggle. Ave Maria! • August 6, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 6:00 pm ET Today is the Feast day of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The Transfiguration — the fourth Luminous Mystery — anticipates the glory of Heaven, where we shall see God face to face while enjoying eternal life. About a year before His Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension to Heaven, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John, and led them to Mount Thabor. [We read about it today on Mk: 9:2-10) In this place, during the night, the Man-God appeared in His glory. His face shone like the sun and his garments became dazzling white. The three apostles were wonderfully delighted. They saw Moses and Elias together with the Lord, talking about the death which would suffer in Jerusalem. Suddenly, a voice from above stated: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him." With this manifestation of divine splendor, Jesus encouraged and strengthened the three apostles. They later would understand that Jesus' redeeming work had two phases: the Cross, and the glory of the Resurrection and Ascension to Heaven. Ave Maria! • August 5, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 6:00 pm ET Today, according to the Old Calendar, is the Memorial Day of Our Lady of the Snow, also known as St Mary Major, as a dedication of the Basilica of St Mary Major in Rome. This feast commemorates the miracle of the snowfall that occurred during the night of August 4 in the year 358 on the site where the basilica now stands. According to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared in a dream to two faithful Roman Christians, the patrician John, and his wife, as well as to Pope Liberius, asking that a church be built in her honor on the site where snow would fall on the night of August 4 to 5. The advocacy of Our Lady of Snow is very extended. It is associated with purity and virginity reflected in the white color of the Virgin Mary. In Spain, it's the feast day of la Virgen Blanca or Santa Maria la Blanca. To pray today’s Rosary I came to my parish in Madrid. Nuestra Señora de las Nieves, Our Lady of Snow, in Madrid, Spain. In this parish today is a solemn day. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! + Mikel A. | TheRosaryNetwork.org, New York
