It’s an unconventional, disruptive view in today’s society. It’s based on accepting suffering and struggle as an expiation of our personal and collective sins. If we follow Jesus, the Lamb of God, we carry our cross. There is no faith, peace, and joy without the cross. Jesus didn’t come to remove our cross. Playing the world’s game of following pleasures, preaching social justice and climate change instead of the salvation of souls, or just cozying with ideologies, only brings unhappiness and despair. As humans, we must identify our personal cross, ask for divine help, and rejoice and give thanks for the privilege of imitating Jesus and Mary. Philosophers, thinkers, and scholars can be as creative and aligned with moderns ideas as they wish. But the reality is that only the Cross and Resurrection of Christ sets us free. Never forget it. • July 16, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 7:00 pm ET Today is the Memorial Day of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. In Spanish, la Vírgen del Carmen. On July 16, 1251, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, and gave him a Brown Scapular, with the following words: "This will be for you and for all Carmelites the privilege, that he who dies in this will not suffer eternal fire." For over seven centuries, the Brown Scapular has been a sign of our love for the Holy Mother, the perfect model of all the disciples of Christ. The Brown Scapular is a sacramental expression of the belief that we will meet God in eternal life, aided by the intercession and prayer of Mary. Pope St. John Paul II, who had worn the scapular for a long time, said that the devotion to the Virgin Mary should be a permanent orientation of anyone's Christian conduct. Ave Maria! • July 14, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 7:00 pm ET As humans, our most precious property is our soul. We must take care permanently of our individual soul, which God created for eternity. It requires us to live vigilant, detecting and rejecting all threats and attacks from the Evil One and his collaborators on Earth. Yesterday, we heard about the vision of hell of the three shepherds of Fatima. Last Saturday we read on the Gospel (Matthew 10:24-33) how Jesus instructed His disciples in this regard. "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both body and soul in Gehenna." To avoid falling into darkness, we love God and surrender to Him in mind, body, and soul. Then we are rooted in a power that transcends space and time, and it’s greater than life and death. This is the mystery of life, and in order to apprehend it, we trust in Jesus and Mary. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You! Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for Us! + Mikel A. | TheRosaryNetwork.org, New York
• July 13, 2021, Holy Rosary Today 7:30 pm ET, YouTube.com/TheRosaryNetwork • Audio Podcast available by 7:00 pm ET On July 13, 1917, in Fatima, Portugal, the Virgin Mary appeared for the third time to the three shepherd children, Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia. Lucia made a number of requests for cures, conversions, and other graces. Our Lady recommended the constant recitation of the Rosary to obtain those graces during the year. Then she went on: "Sacrifice yourselves for sinners and say many times, especially when you make a sacrifice, 'O Jesus, this is for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.'" In this apparition, Lucia recounted that the Holy Mary showed them for an instant a terrifying vision of hell. It was a large sea of fire, with demons, human souls, and repulsive animals burning. Our Lady then said sadly: "You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart." She also asked to stop offending the Lord and warned about the spread of the errors of Godless ideologies. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You!
