Certainly, time flies, and everything fades away quickly. In just three weeks, on February 17, we will celebrate Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Catholics will be marked on the forehead with a cross of ash. We will be invited to repent and believe, while remembered that "we are dust, and to dust, you shall return." (Genesis 3:19). The good news is that our life is eternal. As we say every day in the Holy Rosary, Jesus Christ, with his life, death, and resurrection, purchased for us the rewards of eternal life. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Across history, mankind has experienced the power of prayer. History is not linear, because the Heavens listen to the petitions of the faithful. Mother Teresa once said, "God shapes the world by prayer. Therefore, we need to avoid sexual immorality with our bodies. "The body is not for immorality, but for the Lord," Paul taught us in the first century. This is important because if we disrespect our body we commit sin and distance ourselves from the truth and joy of Jesus Christ. We want to thrive in this earthly life and gain eternity, right? Why playing then against our own interests? The Evildoer, along with its followers, twists our minds and pushes us into falsehoods until we fall. The dominant culture around doesn't help, either. But as disciples of Jesus Christ, we know what's right and what's wrong. Temptations, sexual—or any other nature—are out there, and we realize that we don't have the strength to overcome all of them. To achieve the virtue of purity—the fruit of the second sorrowful mystery today—we need to continuously invoke the Helper, the Holy Spirit, and his spouse, the Virgin Mary. Ave Maria! The first and most suited to our capacity is the Virgin Mary. The second is Jesus Christ, and the third is God the Father. The Most Holy Mary is our mediatrix of intercession. She is the co-redeemer and most-perfect disciple of Jesus Christ. We meet Jesus through Mary, as the second Luminous Mystery teaches us. And we go to God the Father through Jesus Christ, as Our Saviour told us. "No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). Why so many Christians miss these three steps for salvation? The Holy Rosary is the answer not only for them for all mankind. Ave Maria! We celebrate today Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We honor his legacy as a leading voice against racism. Hope and transformative love were central to his message. We pray for the end of the sin of racism and hate. The love and light of Jesus Christ is always the answer.
